About This Place

Welcome to Henry & The Fish, a charming café tucked away on W San Francisco St in the heart of Santa Fe, NM. This delightful spot has quickly made a name for itself, garnering rave reviews from locals and visitors alike. As a food reviewer with an eye for quality, I was eager to visit and discover what makes this café a must-try destination.

From the moment you step inside, you are greeted by an atmosphere that feels both welcoming and artistically curated. The vibrant matchbook art adds a unique touch, enchanting guests as they sip their drinks. The staff extends a warm welcome, making it clear that service is a priority here.

Now, let's talk about the drinks. The offerings at Henry & The Fish include a range of coffee and tea drinks that cater to diverse preferences. Customers rave about the espresso, with its light roast blend being a standout. Not to be overlooked, the drip coffee may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it still manages to please many. I was particularly taken with their signature Mexican hot chocolate, crafted to perfection and bursting with rich flavors that dance on your palate.

If you're in the mood for food, you won't be disappointed. Henry & The Fish serves an all-day breakfast menu that includes delightful items like bagels, eggs, and even some comforting options for lighter fare. The standout dish for me was the Mediterranean bowl, a well-balanced mix that is both nourishing and delicious. As one customer noted, it's hard not to return when the food surpasses your expectations.

As I've explored the café, I couldn't help but notice the emphasis on health-conscious options without compromising on flavor. Smoothies and refreshing beverages like the Ginger Lemonade beckon from the menu, ensuring that every dietary preference is met. Whether you're after a quick bite or a leisurely brunch with friends, there's something for everyone here.

One of the few downsides is their opening hours, with the café not welcoming guests until 9 a.m. This may deter early birds, but those who arrive early are rewarded with a cozy seat and a vibrant ambiance before the rush hits. They even provide additional seating just outside, allowing guests to enjoy the fresh air as they savor their meals.

In summary, Henry & The Fish is more than just a café; it’s an experience waiting to be savored. With fantastic coffee, a diverse menu, and outstanding service, it's no wonder this spot has claimed a place in the hearts of many—a true MUST visit when you're in Santa Fe.

Every time we go to Santa Fe, I find a new favorite coffee shop. On this trip Henry & The Fish became my new favorite. Such great coffee not to mention the fantastic breakfast we had as well. It’s located on the left side of W. San Francisco St before you get to the square. The only negative is that they don’t open until 9a. But make sure you get there early as they fill up fast. Also note, they do have additional seating in the hallway just outside the restaurant which you can’t see from the street. The staff was so nice and helpful. And the art is amazing and unusual - Matchbook art. This is a MUST visit in Santa Fe.

Excellent cafe. Great food options ranging from baked goods, nice bagels, eggs etc. Espresso was an excellent light roast blend. The Drip was darker and not my preference but still good. While I was in town for a few days I ended up going back twice. And I'll be back when I'm in town next.

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. My wife and I visited Santa Fe for a wedding and ate here twice. They do a menu of breakfast all day, some sandwich items, and some bowl items. There are lots of healthy options but if you want to go more comfort food they have that too. They also have a wide selection of coffee/tea drinks smoothies. Everything tasted phenomenal and if there was one of these in my home town I'd go all the time. I'd recommend at least stopping for a drink and checking out the menu. They have options for every dietary preference.

Just went on a girls weekend trip to Santa Fe and found this lovely treasure! The Mediterranean bowl was amazing. You must try the Ginger Lemonade!

This place makes the best Mexican hot chocolate I have ever had. We tried turmeric latte as well and it was delicious. Cool little spot to have coffee, brunch and get some work done. The staff is nice and kind. There is some outdoor seating options too. Highly recommend

It was a cute little cafe for breakfast! My coffee shaken and stirred was delicious! Curried chicken salad croissant was refreshing. The croissant was buttery and tasty. The curry flavor was a little extra but I can imagine the chicken salad tasting really good without the curry flavor too. It was a good breakfast choice though. My friends got the avocado toast and the avocado was fresh and tasty. Just needed to add a little salt.

An exceptional place in Santa Fe. Right next to the Eldorado hotel with a healthy and varied breakfast and lunch menu. Breakfast is served all day. The line was long but moved fast to order and that was with people asking questions and customizing they order. I had a turmeric latte iced and a Chinese chicken salad bowl. There was a large amount of tender chicken diced up with other very fresh salad items. Don’t know when I’ll be back but everyone should make it a stop when in the area.

I want to give this place 5 stars because the staff was so friendly, but it just wasn't there. The main room has a great coffee shop vibe, but the side room with more tables is white, cold and off-putting. I recommend the huge cookies.
